Remedy Entertainment has released the launch trailer for Control Resonant, the sequel to Control arriving on September 24, 2026. The video puts Dylan Faden at the center of a new paranatural crisis and brings together the major elements previously outlined by the studio: a physically distorted Manhattan, creatures created by a threat called the Patterning, and a combat system that moves away from the 2019 game’s emphasis on gunplay.

The release is confirmed for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store, as well as GeForce NOW. A Mac version distributed through Steam and the App Store is planned for later in 2026, with no specific date announced. Remedy is developing and publishing the game, while Annapurna Pictures is co-financing and co-producing it.

Dylan Faden takes control

The new lead is Dylan Faden, brother of Jesse Faden, who starred in the first Control. After spending much of that game confined by the Federal Bureau of Control and influenced by the Hiss, Dylan awakens to find Manhattan overrun by paranatural forces. Jesse remains important to the story, but Remedy has confirmed that Dylan is the sole playable character.

The change is not merely narrative. Dylan uses the Aberrant, a melee weapon that can assume different forms, alongside powers such as projectile barrages, shields, and temporary allies assembled from environmental objects. Physical attacks restore the resource required for abilities, a structure the company says is designed to keep players on the offensive. It is a clear change of pace from Jesse’s Service Weapon-centered combat.

The city also increases the scale without turning the game into a conventional open world. Material published by Remedy and a PlayStation Blog hands-on describe large, distinct zones connected to a mental space called the Gap. There, players can test ability combinations, upgrade Dylan and the Aberrant, and craft Artifacts. Optional missions, hidden encounters, and bosses that can be approached in different orders add flexibility to progression.

What has been confirmed for launch

Remedy says the main campaign takes approximately 25 to 35 hours. On PS5, the game includes performance- and quality-oriented modes, DualSense adaptive trigger support, and compatible 3D audio. These figures and features are company-provided specifications, and final behavior may vary by platform, graphics mode, and updates.

An interview published by PC Gamer added detail about the Resonants, people transformed into bosses by the Patterning. Players will not have to defeat every one of them, and each victory can unlock a new power. That structure has a practical consequence: the development team had to prepare encounters that work even when players arrive with different sets of abilities.

The trailer therefore closes the promotional campaign with a summary rather than a change to the release date or platform lineup. The confirmed information is that Control Resonant launches September 24 on current-generation consoles and PC, with the Mac edition following later. The editorial inference is that Remedy is treating the sequel as an expansion in scale and player choice while preserving the visual identity and paranatural horror that defined the original.
