Simultaneous production keeps Ju Ji-hoon and adds Jeong Ye-in as Cheon Jang-mi, but premiere dates remain unannounced.
R42 / SUMMARY
Netflix has confirmed production of The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call Seasons 2 and 3. Ju Ji-hoon, Choo Young-woo, Yoon Kyung-ho and Jeong Jae-kwang return, while Jeong Ye-in takes over as Cheon Jang-mi. No premiere dates or episode counts have been announced.
KEY POINTS
- Netflix confirmed that Seasons 2 and 3 will be produced simultaneously.
- Ju Ji-hoon, Choo Young-woo, Yoon Kyung-ho and Jeong Jae-kwang return.
- Jeong Ye-in takes over the role of nurse Cheon Jang-mi.
- Premiere dates and episode counts have not been announced.
Netflix confirmed on Monday, October 19, 2026, that The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call will return for a second and a third season. The announcement turns what had previously been discussed as a possibility into an official production commitment and keeps Ju Ji-hoon in the role of surgeon Baek Kang-hyuk, alongside Choo Young-woo, Yoon Kyung-ho and Jeong Jae-kwang.
The most visible change in front of the camera is Jeong Ye-in, who will take over the role of nurse Cheon Jang-mi. Ha Young played the character in Season 1. Netflix says Jeong Ye-in was selected through an audition process, but the company’s international announcement does not specify when either new season will arrive.
Two seasons are confirmed, but the release calendar is not
What has been confirmed is the production of Seasons 2 and 3 at the same time, not a simultaneous release. As of publication, Netflix had not disclosed premiere dates, episode counts or whether the two seasons would be filmed and released back to back. Any specific release forecast should therefore be treated as speculation rather than part of the official announcement.
Season 2 will place Baek Kang-hyuk and the trauma team in larger disasters and unpredictable crises as they try to protect the “golden hour” for critically injured patients and build a system that can withstand the hospital’s institutional limits. That description suggests an expansion of the conflict established in Season 1: performing difficult procedures is only part of the job, because the team also has to confront budgets, bureaucracy and internal resistance.
Lee Do-yun will return as director and write Season 2. Soompi and SBS additionally report that he will direct Season 3, with new writer Tomasi participating in its scripts. Netflix’s production information lists Studio N and Mays Entertainment as the production companies and identifies the WEBTOON series Trauma Center: Golden Hour as the source material.
The returning core cast leaves room for a new dynamic
Ju Ji-hoon is back as Baek Kang-hyuk, the battle-zone veteran trying to turn a struggling trauma unit into an effective medical team. Choo Young-woo returns as Yang Jae-won, his first protégé; Yoon Kyung-ho reprises Han Yu-rim, now connected to the hospital’s planning and coordination office; and Jeong Jae-kwang continues as anesthesiologist Park Gyeong-won. Jeong Ye-in’s arrival keeps Cheon Jang-mi within the ensemble, but the change of performer is a visible continuity issue that the production will need to absorb into the drama.
The two-season order also changes the scale of planning. Instead of testing the audience with only one follow-up, Netflix has secured room for a longer arc. That is an editorial inference about the project’s structure, not a promise that one continuous story will be split into two parts. The company has confirmed both seasons while only outlining the broad direction of Season 2.
For performance context, Netflix says Season 1 reached the Top 10 in 63 countries in 2025 and ranked first in 18 of them. Those figures come from the platform itself and are not an independent audit. The initial eight-episode season, released in 2025, follows Kang-hyuk’s attempt to rebuild emergency trauma care at Hankuk National University Hospital.
With two seasons now formally in production, the immediate question is no longer whether the series will continue, but how Netflix will schedule its expansion. The announcement confirms the cast, director and premise while leaving the information most relevant to viewers’ calendars unresolved: premiere timing, episode count and release format.
