Today’s Nintendo Direct will feature 45 minutes of Switch 2 games

Nintendo is holding a new Nintendo Direct on Wednesday, September 9. The broadcast begins at 7 a.m. PT / 10 a.m. ET and will run for approximately 45 minutes, focusing on Nintendo Switch 2 games planned for the Northern Hemisphere winter. It will be available through Nintendo’s official channels and followed by a Nintendo Treehouse presentation.

Nintendo’s published description is brief and does not identify any of the games that will appear. Titles mentioned in predictions, forum discussions or alleged leaks are therefore not confirmed for the program. The verifiable scope before the stream is limited to Switch 2 software that Nintendo associates with the coming winter release window.

Start time, duration and where to watch

The Nintendo Direct begins at 7 a.m. Pacific and 10 a.m. Eastern. That converts to 11 a.m. in Brasília and 3 p.m. in the United Kingdom. Nintendo has announced a runtime of roughly 45 minutes, but that duration does not establish how many games, trailers or release dates will be included.

The stream will be available on the official Nintendo Direct page and Nintendo’s YouTube channel. A Nintendo Switch Online subscription is not required to watch. The video generally remains available after the live broadcast, allowing viewers who miss the start to see the complete presentation and separate official announcements from speculation published beforehand.

What is confirmed — and what is not

Nintendo says the program will focus on Switch 2 games launching this winter. “Focus on” does not necessarily mean absolute exclusivity: it establishes the presentation’s priority but does not justify an advance conclusion that no original Switch project, service or additional content can be mentioned. Nintendo has also not confirmed particular franchises, prices, demos or regional availability for Brazil.

That distinction matters because Nintendo presentations routinely generate prediction lists that mix earlier announcements, rumors and audience wishes. Treehouse will show gameplay after the trailers

After the Direct, Nintendo will hold its September Nintendo Treehouse: Live broadcast. The official page says the team will show gameplay from selected titles featured during the main event. The second stream serves a different purpose: while the Direct moves rapidly through announcements and trailers, Treehouse demonstrations spend more time on systems, interfaces and the pace of play.

Nintendo does not have to bring every Direct game to Treehouse. The official wording specifies a selection, so a title’s absence from that segment would not signal a cancellation or delay. Specialist outlets list the companion program at around 110 minutes, while the official page reviewed confirms only that it follows the Direct and features gameplay.

A week packed with presentations

The general event arrives one day after the special 40th anniversary presentation for The Legend of Zelda, which Nintendo treated as a separate Direct. Splitting the programs prevents every franchise celebration from occupying the 45-minute Wednesday slot and leaves room for a broader Switch 2 lineup.

The schedule continues on Thursday, when LEVEL-5 will hold its own presentation with updates on several games. The events have not been announced as a coordinated initiative, but their proximity explains why the week concentrates information from different publishers. For Nintendo’s show, the definitive lineup will exist only when the broadcast begins.
