The Gentlemen returns to Netflix with eight episodes and Season 3 confirmed

The second season of The Gentlemen is now available on Netflix, with all eight episodes released at once. Guy Ritchie's series returns a little over two years after its first season and arrives with an unusual degree of certainty for a streaming production: a third season was confirmed before the new episodes premiered.

Theo James and Kaya Scodelario return as Eddie Horniman and Susie Glass. The story moves forward by one year and finds the pair trying to expand the criminal business controlled by Bobby Glass, played by Ray Winstone. While the first season followed Eddie as he discovered an unexpected aptitude for this world, the second examines what happens when he begins to pursue power deliberately.

The operation moves beyond the English estate

The clearest change is one of scale. The enterprise once hidden beneath the Horniman family estate now establishes a foothold in Italy, where Eddie and Susie must navigate unfamiliar alliances, fixers and local organizations. The expansion keeps the show's central contrast between aristocracy and organized crime, but places its protagonists outside the territory where they learned to control the business.

New characters include Marco Moretti, a crime boss played by Sergio Castellitto, and Cico Maldini, portrayed by Michele Morrone. Benedetta Porcaroli joins as Bella, while Hugh Bonneville, Benjamin Clementine and Maya Jama are also among the additions. Giancarlo Esposito returns as Stanley Johnston alongside established cast members including Daniel Ings, Joely Richardson and Vinnie Jones.

Eddie's ambition reshapes the conflict

According to lead writer and executive producer Matthew Read, the season was developed around Eddie expanding his criminal empire and testing his relationship with Bobby Glass. That premise changes the protagonist's starting position. He is no longer simply an heir trying to protect his family estate; he now carries direct responsibility for the consequences of the operation's growth.

The shift also puts new pressure on his partnership with Susie. They remain allies, but their motivations do not always point in the same direction. Netflix frames the season around the cost of Eddie's ambition rather than treating the story as a straightforward territorial dispute. The risks involve the stability of the partnership, Bobby's authority and Eddie's ability to retain personal limits as he climbs the criminal hierarchy.

Season 3 is already confirmed

The early renewal establishes that Netflix is not presenting the second season as the end of the series. Guy Ritchie will remain involved as creator, writer, director and executive producer. No premiere date, production start or story details have been announced for Season 3, so predictions about the timing of the next installment remain speculative.

The confirmation still changes how the current release can be understood. The eight episodes can develop a complete stage of the conflict without the immediate uncertainty surrounding the show's continuation. At the same time, Eddie's international expansion gives the series a structure that can introduce additional territories, alliances and adversaries.

What has been released

Season 2 premiered on September 3, 2026 and is available in full on Netflix. Guy Ritchie, Eran Creevy and Nick Rowland share directing duties. In addition to Ritchie and Matthew Read, the writing team includes Danielle Ward, John Jackson and Iain Weatherby. The third season is officially confirmed, but its production and release calendar has not been disclosed.
