Romelia War Chronicle starts Japanese streaming on October 3

Romelia War Chronicle now has a firm Japanese premiere schedule. The adaptation begins streaming on October 3, 2026, at 9 p.m. JST through Anime Times, U-NEXT and Netflix. This is a domestic release exclusive to those three services in Japan and arrives before the television broadcast. The TV run starts on October 5 and will continue for two consecutive cours.

The production's official website posted the announcement on September 12 alongside a new trailer and main visual. Crunchyroll's report independently confirmed the same details. There is no platform or date for other territories yet, however. Netflix appearing on the Japanese list does not automatically mean that the series will be available worldwide.

Streaming begins two days before television

Anime Times, U-NEXT and Netflix receive the first episode on Saturday, October 3. TOKYO MX, BS11 and Sun TV begin broadcasting it on October 5 at 11:30 p.m.; KBS Kyoto follows that day at midnight. CBC lists the premiere in its October 10 late-night schedule as 26:58, the Japanese convention for 2:58 a.m. on the following civil day. The official site notes that the schedule may change.

The two-consecutive-cour plan means the series is scheduled to continue without a seasonal break between its two parts. That format usually gives an adaptation roughly half a year on the air, but it does not establish an episode total: the production committee has not disclosed one. The distinction matters because “two cours” describes a programming window rather than a fixed episode count.

The new trailer introduces both theme songs

The second promotional video features the opening and ending tracks. Chogakusei performs “Akatsuki ni Naru,” composed by Yuki Tsujimura and MEG. KOHTA YAMAMOTO, who also provides the series music, performs “Nightfall feat. Maika Loubté” as the ending theme.

The main cast includes Yuuna Nemoto as Romelia von Graham, Jin Ogasawara as Al and Tomohiro Ono as Ray. Koji Saito serves as series director, Takahiro Hirata is assistant director, and Aya Satsuki handles scripts and series composition. Animation production is credited to Atra.

The story begins after the victory

Based on Ryo Ariyama's light novel series, Romelia War Chronicle does not treat the Demon King's defeat as the ending. After the successful campaign, Prince Henri breaks off his engagement to Romelia. She then sets out to address a devastated country, communities still controlled by demonic forces, and problems that a military victory did not solve.

The premise places army-building, economics and reconstruction at the center of the journey. That focus separates the work from stories in which a broken engagement functions only as a romantic starting point: here, it pushes the protagonist into a political and military campaign about the consequences of war. This is an editorial inference based on the official synopsis, not an assessment of unaired episodes.

The Japanese schedule, two-cour format and major production roles are now confirmed. For audiences outside Japan, the missing detail is decisive: no company has yet announced where or when the series will be distributed internationally.
